A view of my world in Central Illinois and places we go.

Fall Arrives Early in Central Illinois

It was just last Saturday, that summer continued to persist with temps in the 90s and the usual high humidity. But a cool front came through Saturday night/Sunday, such that Monday – Labor Day – started refreshingly cool and brisk. And it brought with it the type of sky I cherish for photography – bright blue with fluffy clouds. Just dazzling. And, an afternoon with no pending chores to keep me from heading out of town to see what sights I might find. I headed several miles west to get some views of the countryside.

Drying corn nearly ready for harvest under a glorious sky.

A look down a gravel road toward "infinity and beyond" with the sun illuminating the corn on the north side of the road, leaving the south in shadow.

This old oak on a curve in the road is a favorite subject I have shot before. Today is exceptional.
